That is something I most definately can agree with, but sadly oh well.
Also, might not be the proper place, but I don't suppose anyone who has a female ranger with elite luxon could post two images of that character with the new masks?

I actually like the goggles, but I can't help but think of Cid Highwind when wearing them, so that's probably just me.
The cat ears are meh to me, but I'm not into the whole kawaii stuff.

I hope this is helpful.
(P.S. Sorry for the lack of background diversity. I find the lighting in Kodonur Crossroads outpost to be excellent for screencapping and armor dye testing.)

The goggles are pretty cool, imo. Not really a fan of the cat ears, but I don't hate them.

They plan on making their characters resemble Anime cat-girls/boys and it has nothing to do with a "halloween costume" as they claim to defend their relevance to GW or Halloween.

So what if people choose to wear the kitty ears after Halloween? We see the Santa hat, dragon mask, and zombie paint all year round and nobody bothers to bitch and moan about that. OHNOES! My game looks more like Left4Dead than Guild Wars! Damn zombie lovers! BRB getting my katana!
They gave us hats and we are free to wear them whenever we want. Our reasons for doing so are completely irrelevant.
On a more disturbing note... I didn't see anybody say a word when I mixed the charr mask with the Dwayna costume for giggles a while back. Honestly, I thought that ensemble was a little creepy since it made my character look like a furry in a wedding dress. Not a single word. However, I throw on the cat ears with any costume or armor and it's OMG WEEABOO FURRY ALERT! There's something wrong with that.

However, wearing white armor after Labor Day is a serious taboo.

Some of the hats are utter crap and some are cool, that's just the way it goes. I can't believe we have 30 of the silly things already. If you don't like the hat keep playing eventually Anet will give you one you like.

Goggles are making a come-back in style. Syfy just released a new series called Riese: Kingdom falling, starring Christine Chatelain as Riese, who reminds me of a ranger with a wolf pet. Take a look at this:

the cat ears might be kind of too anime-ish for guild wars, but they're still some of the best event headpieces that's ever been released, along with the goggles. every other year's headpieces have been completely awful.

Shrug. I wear the jester hat year round.
Let people who like the cat ears like them.
Upier, this is like the 5th time you've quit the game. We don't care.

Since these crybabies want to cry about every hat, can we have the kitty tail next year? It would complete my mesmer's sexy basement cat outfit.
Yeah. I went there.

Although no Asura wears goggles in GW1, they made the spectacles, and Zojja wears those thingies to control her golem that look pretty much like goggles, if you don't look closely.

I love the ears and the goggles! They are actually wearable, in contrast with, say, the lupine mask that went to the festival hat maker never to be seen again one day after Halloween.
And even if I didn't love them, I would not be so full of myself that I could not take one year of cute "accessories" hats after 5(!) years of hats that either covered up the entire head or face, or made the character bald. Variety ftw.

Cat ears are not expressly something from anime. And, amusingly enough, there are not many actual catgirls in anime! When you google-search catgirl? 90% of your results (that are not porn) are just generic art done anime-style. They're not actual anime characters or anything.
Steampunk is decidedly not anime, has never been a popular anime genre, has always been more popular in western comics and books, and was invented in the 1800s by HG Wells and Jules Verne. AKA, an Englishman and a Frenchman.
People complain about anything. Me, I love the cat ears. They're the only Halloween hat besides the witch hat (which I wasn't playing at that time) that I care about, and yes, I'll probably wear them often. I don't like steampunk, but my boyfriend does, so he thinks the goggles are awesome.
Some people will like them. Some won't. If you don't, don't wear them. Problem solved.
